20 an hour - Permanent, Full-time

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
• or equivalent experience
• Several months of on-the-job training for shoe repairers.

• Be able to:
• See the problem and fix it
• Estimate job
• Sell and up selling
• Work with machinery
• Be able to work with:
• Knife and scissors sharpening,
• Sanding and trimming machine
• Cutting key machine and FOB machine,
• Five different shoe sewing machines,
• Be able to fix and change zippers, be able to fix purse, bag, suitcase

• Estimate costs
• Outline and cut patterns
• Repair:
• Soles, heels and other parts of footwear
• Belts, purses, luggage and similar products
• Leather handbags and backpack and other similar products
• Trim, dress and finish boots or shoes

• Footwear
• Leather footwear
• Sport Footwear
• Snow boats

• Criminal record check

• Attention to detail
• Hand-eye co-ordination
• Ability to distinguish between colours

• Client focus
• Efficient interpersonal skills
• Organized
