Are you a safety-conscious, experienced heavy equipment operator with a proven track record in container stacking and logistics support? If so, we want to hear from you! This role requires expertise in operating reach stackers capable of handling heavy loads (up to 45 tonnes), with a focus on safe, precise container stacking in challenging Arctic environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various models of reach stackers (up to 45t) to load, unload, and stack shipping containers safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough daily inspections and safety checks on equipment.
  • Follow strict safety protocols, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure proper stacking, securement, and storage of cargo and containers.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistical activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, container movements, and equipment usage.
  • Report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately for prompt resolution.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 3+ years of proven experience operating heavy lift reach stackers in port, marine, or sea-lift operations, especially with container stacking.
  • Valid and current reach stacker certification/license (up to 45t capacity).
  • Strong knowledge of load capacities, safety standards, and container handling procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with heavy lifting, stacking, and safe operation in demanding environments.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and precision maneuvering skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
  • Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and commitment to accident prevention.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience working in Arctic or remote environments.
  • Knowledge of maritime or Arctic sealift safety standards.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with environmental policies related to Arctic operations.
  • Certifications such as HEO (Heavy Equipment Operator), telehandler, forklift, or container handling are a plus.

Certifications Required:

  • Valid reach stacker operator certification/license.
  • Heavy machinery operator license (if applicable in your region).
  • Safety training certificates (First Aid, AWP, Confined Space, WHMIS, TDG).
  • Container securing and stacking certification (highly preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HEO (Heavy Equipment Operator) certification.
  • Certification in telehandler operation.
  • Forklift operation certification.
  • Prior experience in logistics, warehousing, or port operations.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems.
