Toronto - Credit Team Manager

Adecco ET is currently searching for a Credit Team Manager to work directly for our client, in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We require an experienced Credit Team Manager who is detail-oriented and can oversee the credit granting process, manage customer credit risk, and assess creditworthiness.

The most closely matched candidate will have a strong background in risk management, financial analysis, and customer service, with a strong level of credit law and policy understanding. If you have a minimum of 3+ years of management experience with a credit team, together with strong risk management background, this opportunity may be the right one for you.

REQUIREMENTS - Credit Team Manager
  • 3+ years experience in credit team management (or similar financial role)
  • Finance, Accounting, Business Administration degree or diploma (or a related).
  • CCP, CPA, CFA certification would be an asset.
  • Experience working with third-party outsourced collection companies.
  • Strong experience and understanding of credit law, accounting principles, and risk assessment.
  • ERP and financial software proficiency, together with SAP and Excel would be ideal.
  • Strong written and verbal analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and high organizational skills.
  • Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Credit Team Manager
  • Establish and review credit limits based on credit policies, risk analysis, and customer payment history.
  • Evaluate customers' credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
  • Work closely with sales and finance/ accounting to support business operations while minimizing credit risk.
  • Compliance with policies, regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Monitor outstanding debts and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Negotiate payment plans and credit terms with clients as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly credit and collections reports for senior management.
  • Maintenance of accurate records regarding credit decisions, financial profiles, and communications.
  • Continuous improvement and best practices approach with credit control procedures and policies
  • Support related audits.
