Job Summary
The Yard Operator will be responsible for accurately and quickly servicing a very demanding client base while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in the industry. This role reports into the DC Coordinator while working a 40-hour work week (Mon-Fri, 10:00am - 6:00pm)
Responsibilities- Operate forklift equipment effectively and safely
- Perform duties within the RF processes in place
- Accurately pick, stage and load freight
- Execute work in the prescribed sequence so deliver-by-date is met
- Work proficiently to meet productivity, quality and safety targets
- Load/unload flatbed and dry van trucks
- Maintain strict housekeeping standards
- Report unsafe work conditions/environment in a timely fashion
- Report safety and security issues to your direct supervisor
- All of the above will be performed outdoors year round and in varying weather conditions
- Perform a variety of other duties as assigned
- Completion of a high-school Diploma (OSSD)
- Minimum 2-year experience operating Order Pickers & Reach Forklifts
- Must have necessary certifications for forklift (Raymond Reach and/or Counterbalance) and order picker
- Experience working in warehouse and/or distribution environment is preferred
- Proven ability supporting/working with RF equipment and remote printers
- Accurate and detail oriented
- Skilled in managing competing priorities and problem solving under minimal supervision
- Ability to be dependable, punctual and proactive to meet deadlines
- Must be background check approved as per CTPAT policy
- Ability to work overtime and willingness to work flex hours in the summer months if required
Working Conditions
Incumbent spends most of their time in our Yard and Warehouse environments requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labor as an operator. Lifting, pulling and pushing varied amount of products weighing between 5-50lbs. A significant amount of work is required outdoors in all climate conditions.May include ad-hoc functions such as: cycle counts, 5S, etc. Personal safety is affected by dust and traffic caused by other warehouse operators. Must possess a high level of self-awareness, and responsible work attitude.
