Humber River Health (HRH) is a prominent 1.8 million square foot, fully-digital acute care facility in Canada, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and catering to a wide range of medical needs. It serves a population of over 850,000 individuals residing in the northwest Greater Toronto Area.HRH operates 656 acute inpatient beds at the Wilson site, 34 beds at Church Campus and 32 beds at Finch Campus, with over 4000 staff, approximately 800 physicians and over 1,000 volunteers. HRH also includes the Reactivation Care Centres (RCCs) at the Finch and Church Campuses which represent a unique partnership among multiple hospitals in the GTA with a focus on delivery of specialised care with the focus on reactivation to patients who have been designated as Alternative Level of Care.

We have developed advanced patient flow and care monitoring tools supported by the Command Centre, enabling us to use real-time data feeds from across the Hospital to improve patient flow, patient safety and outcomes.

Department and Program Overview
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is currently staffed for 9 full time pathologists plus some locum coverage.
The Humber River Hospital Laboratory is an ISO 15189 Plus accredited Laboratory, with an annual workload of 28,000 surgical pathology specimens, 5200 cytology specimens, 270 bone marrow specimens and 750 flow cytometry samples.
Position Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full time Anatomic Pathologist.The successful candidate will provide general pathology services including regular surgical and cytopathology service work, frozen section coverage, tumour board, occasional autopsy, and on-call coverage.Subspecialty training is considered an asset.
HRH has an expectation that all physicians will apply for an academic appointment in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Your support for medical learners is key to our strategic plan as an academic centre and our participation as a member of TAHSN.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
In addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, the successful candidate must be a Royal College Fellow with speciality certification in Pathology and a member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
