AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the Supervisor, working within the Surveys & Technical Support Services section, you will assist in the maintenance of various geographical and engineering data to support various City Wide projects.
  • Provide Engineering Drawings (As-builts) to external clients.
  • Maintain the City’s Engineering Design Drawing index (EDDi)
  • Assign drawing numbers for EDDi submissions
  • Assist with maintaining ProjectWise folder structure.
  • Assist with creating an ARCGIS database using MicroStation files
  • Report all concerns/issues to immediate supervisor for follow up.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

EDUCATION:

  • Completion of High School (Grade 12) or equivalent.

Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering, GIS, Architecture, or equivalent program

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:

  • Experience with MicroStation, ARCGIS, ProjectWise and SharePoint are an asset.
  • Strong research, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong computer and interpersonal skills

**Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton.
