Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management.We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

The Compliance Technology team is responsible for supporting our Capital Markets and Wealth Management global Compliance partners to provide Trade Surveillance and Know-Your-Employee solutions.
What will you do?- Deliver initiatives using appropriate methods, including Agile and Iterative Waterfall; Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes. Report team progress and accomplishment up and across. Facilitate status updates (including project financials and running concurrent Agile/IWF projects in a fast-paced work environment), product demos and retrospectives
- Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through proactive management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges
- Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues. Facilitate and engage in analytical and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence
- Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, provide direction for early resolution of risks, issues and clear escalation path for program committees.
- Oversee financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and tracks value for effective decision-making
- Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g. Vendors, RBC IT teams, Product)
- Build / present reporting for management level presentations
- Ensure the completion of risk assessments and the identification & execution of contingency plans
- Coach the scrum team to apply appropriate processes to create successful products.
- Establish strong working relationships across technical/business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.
- Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have- 5+ years of Agile Project Management and/or Senior-level Scrum Master experience which includes both waterfall and agile project
- Certified Scrum Master and Coach, with proficiency in JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint
- Advanced knowledge of Agile Project Management workflows (milestones, critical paths, product & sprint backlogs, work back schedules, release burndown)
- Proven ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components
- Advanced knowledge of the change management and risk management, working knowledge of Software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies/day-2-day ceremonies; Agile experience fostering team improvements through standard Agile processes and ceremonies.
- Proven ability to manage high visible projects with third party vendors and significant technology components along with having a strong executive presence and advanced communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Undergraduate degree (preferred) - Preferably in Business, Technology or Financial Services
- Previous experience working in Finance
