Mississauga - Business Development Representative

Overview:

The Business Development Representative builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. This position will report to the Vice President of Intermodal Sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn how the NFI Intermodal Operation and Pricing Team work in regards to moving both Refrigerated and Dry Intermodal freight.
  • Work to network internally and externally in order to help the customer get the solutions they need.
  • Engage and fully utilize the “consultative sell” approach with new and or existing customers to help better understand their Supply Chain.
  • Use system tools and effective communication methods (e-mail, phone, and sales force).
  • Develop a strong pipeline
  • Immediate follow-up with customers and manage any expectations on each and every freight load.
  • Achieve and exceed clear and obtainable revenue goals.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal network, and participating in continual training.

Qualifications:

  • Two or Four year degree preferred
  • Has at least 2-years previous sales or industry experience
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to deal effectively and tactfully with customer and employees in a fast-paced, stressful work environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and closing skills.
  • Prospecting skills and Sales Planning.
  • Selling to customer needs with Professionalism
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications(Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Need to be tenacious, spontaneous and energetic and able to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Willing to work as a team.
  • You will need to be self-motivated and driven for success.
  • Domestic travel to customers 20-30%
