Overview:

A structured Service Bartender role is critical to assist all beverage staff in daily Food & Beverage operation of the River Cree Resort & Casino.

Reporting to the F & B Manager, the Bartender will be responsible to receive and prepare drink orders in an efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
  • Know and follow all company and local standard policies and procedures.
  • Know and follow all scheduling and call out procedures.
  • Ensure to use proper hand washing procedures and to maintain high standard of personal hygiene.
  • Ensure to maintain minimum clean and polished par stock for all silverware and glasses.
  • Ensure to follow daily/weekly side duties for bartender.
  • Assist team to setup the room for private function as required by supervisor.
  • Know the menu and all beverages being served. Be able to knowledgeably explain the major ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Participate in all required departmental meeting/training.
  • Know and check your bar area to ensure cleanliness, organization and in accordance with the restaurant/Bar standards.
  • Acknowledge and respond to all guests’ requests and complaints.
  • Ensure your bar area is kept clean and well maintained throughout your shift.
  • Maintain your work area and back areas in a clean and well-organized manner.
  • All food items to be stored labeled and dated
  • Prepare drink orders
  • Requisition liquor and other supplies to maintain adequate stock
  • Closing Bartenders will be responsible to ensure all side duties are completed according to the restaurant/Bar standards.
  • Track all inventory and ordering according to policy and procedures.
  • To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Bartending experience and asset operation required
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Mixology/bartending course a definite asset
  • Proven knowledge of alcohol beverages, Spirits, Wines and Liqueurs.
  • Working knowledge of Micros a definite asset.
  • Knowledge of food, wine and restaurant service an asset.
  • High school diploma
  • AGLC – Proserve/ProTect preferred

Bartenders usually work shifts, sometimes split shifts, and often work weekends and holidays. At busy mealtimes, they are constantly on their feet and under pressure to work quickly. They may be required to lift items weighing up to 25 kilograms
