Position Summary:
The Vice President, Finance will play a key leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of both the Accounting team and the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This position will provide strategic financial oversight, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and drive business performance through insightful analysis, planning, and forecasting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both corporate finance and accounting, with experience managing complex financial operations in a public company reporting environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Leadership and Strategy:
  • Lead the development and execution of financial strategies, providing insight to executive leadership and the Board of Directors on financial performance, risk management, and investment opportunities.
  • Partner with the CFO to develop and refine SIR Corp.’s short-term and long-term financial goals, business plans, and performance metrics.
  • Drive financial performance across both SIR Corp. and SIR Income Royalty Fund by providing accurate, timely, and relevant financial insights and recommendations.
  • Oversee the financial integration of SIR Income Royalty Fund’s operations, ensuring consistency with corporate finance and accounting standards.
  1. Accounting and Financial Reporting:
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reporting for both SIR Corp. and SIR Income Royalty Fund.
  • Supervise and mentor the Accounting team to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring effective communication with auditors and that the financial records are in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
  • Lead the FP&A team in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, driving alignment with business strategy and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide senior leadership with actionable insights derived from financial modeling, variance analysis, and business performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement financial models to assess business initiatives, including capital allocation, investments, and acquisitions, and communicate the impact on both SIR Corp. and SIR Income Royalty Fund.
  • Partner with various business units to deliver performance dashboards, cost-control measures, and financial guidance to ensure business objectives are met.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of finance professionals in both Accounting and FP&A functions.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture, encouraging continuous improvement, innovation, and professional growth within the finance team.
  • Set clear objectives for the teams, conduct performance reviews, and identify development opportunities to ensure the continued success and growth of the department.
  1. Stakeholder Communication and Relationships:
  • Serve as a key financial liaison between senior management, the Board of Directors, investors, and external stakeholders.
  • Present financial results, strategic initiatives, and other financial matters to key internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Build strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial institutions to enhance the credibility and reliability of financial operations.
  1. Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Implement and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risk and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect both SIR Corp. and SIR Income Royalty Fund’s interests, ensuring the sustainability of the organization’s operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience in one of the big 4 accounting firms is strongly preferred.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Proven experience overseeing both accounting and FP&A teams in a complex financial environment, including multi-entity and/or public company reporting.
  • Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience in working with external auditors, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to drive financial performance, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or similar sectors is a plus, but not required.
