Responsibilities:
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 2 (6-Month Contract)
The Role:
Contribute to the team building and optimizing AMD Instinct Accelerators for HPC and AI/Machine Learning. The individual will be part of a development team which analyzes, develops, tests, and deploys software to make AMD the leading platform for HPC and AI/Machine learning applications, with a specific focus on Linux kernel mode development and open source contributions.
The Person:
The ideal person has strong technical and analytical skills in Linux kernel mode software development and open source contributions. They must have the ability to work as a member of a team, while also being able to work independently, define goals, scope, and lead their own development effort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with internationally renowned world-class cloud providers to enable AMD Accelerators for HPC and AI.
- Develop AMD’s GPU virtualization solution spanning Linux GPU software to a variety of Hypervisors (including KVM, Hyper-V, VMware… etc.)
- Contribute to and maintain open source projects related to Linux kernel mode development.
- Work with cross-functional teams to further increase the solution lead between AMD and the competition.
Preferred Experience:
- Excellent C/C++ programming and software design skills including debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
- Extensive experience in developing and debugging Linux kernel mode device driver software.
- Proven track record of contributions to open source projects, particularly in the Linux kernel.
- Experience in developing software in a Linux environment including commonly used tools.
Academic Credentials:
- The candidate must have an undergraduate degree in a related field (Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering).
