Responsibilities:

What We are looking for:

Dealer-FX North America Group Inc. is looking for a Senior Product Design Lead to advance Dealer-FX, and revolutionize how automotive retailers manage their service operations and provide their customers with a best-in-class service experience.

We’re looking for an experienced leader who pushes their team to be customer-obsessed, and research driven. You don’t mind jumping in and getting your hands dirty to solve complex problems. However, you are a strong leader who is able to guide your team to doing the same.

You thrive in ambiguity, and understand the steps to simplify complexity while bringing your team and stakeholders along on the journey.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Product Design, and partner with other leaders and teams across the company to deliver best-in-class solutions for desktop, tablet and mobile web-based applications that improve people’s lives. You’re able to see the big picture, and break down the objectives of the business while balancing the needs of the user.

Armed with that capability you’re able to prioritize, and task your team on what’s important in order to deliver the right thing, at the right time.

You’ll lead a team of designers, and design researchers to identify unmet customer needs, develop high-level design concepts and prototypes, and oversee design delivery.

You’ll play a critical role in driving contributing to the vision of the product, and make recommendations driven by data and insights. You’re open-minded, a natural collaborator, and can apply design thinking and human-centered design methodologies in your day-to-day work.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • You’ll own projects from start to finish, while leading various UX initiatives including running design sprints to define and explore user problems, content mapping, sketching, wireframing, low and high fidelity prototyping, creating visual design concepts for brainstorming and approval in a timely manner and leading stakeholder reviews
  • Champion design and design-thinking methodologies throughout the cross-functional team and broader organization
  • Lead by example within a close-knit design team on various projects to better the end-to-end experience of our software and mobile apps
  • Apply the principles of design thinking to the creation, maintenance, and growth of our new design system—ensuring consistency and simplicity within our new brand guidelines
  • Adapt your skill sets across challenges within the product life cycle—from identifying problems, research, ideation, and execution
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to reach clarity and alignment on small to large ideas to better the user experience using informal and formal design thinking methods
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business, product, and technology, partners to ensure the successful planning and delivery of industry-leading experiences
  • Work within our agile team structure to provide quality assurance on our design outputs
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful
  • Challenge the status quo, and push for better both with the design team, and cross-functional partners.
  • Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces
  • Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Dealer-FX products
  • Give and solicit feedback from the broader product team to continually improve quality
  • Establish the reputation of Snap-On (digital) product design as a high-performing design team, fostering a sense of community within the organization and broader design industry to attract top talent

Qualifications:

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Has proven processes and frameworks for complex design problems
  • 5+ years leadership experience
  • 8 years of experience in product design or user experience (UX).
  • A master-communicator who’s able to collaborate with stakeholders, and present to executives
  • A strong ability to lead a high-performing design team through influence and inspiration
  • Strong experience in the field of workshop facilitation and a good understanding of the different methods and techniques
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data and text into compelling insights
Experience in documenting solutions through personas, user journeys, storyboards, value propositions, and sketches.
  • Experience in partnering with Design Research to amplify research and design impact.
  • Ability to succeed in ambiguity and conceptualize new ideas.
  • Passion for design with proven experience in responsive, web-based application design
  • Experience leading multiple projects while sharing work with other product designers and collaborating with cross-functional leadership
  • Experienced decision-maker who’s driven by a deep concern for the customer
  • Ability to guide user research and create new frameworks for approaching user analytics
  • Capable of capturing insights from user interviews, interaction, and observation
What’s in it for you?
  • Vast opportunities for growth
  • Competitive compensation packages
  • A flexible work schedule for work-life balance
  • Comprehensive Training and Development support
  • Group health and dental benefits
  • Employee Assistance Program
