Job Description
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for accounts receivable related administrative functions, including billing preparation, contacting delinquent accounts, reviewing reports and posting charges, communicating with patients and processing payments, filing and other clerical duties, month-end journal entries and other duties as assigned.
This is what you'll be doing:
- Prepare and mail invoices to patients
- Review reports and post charges daily to patient accounts
- Identify and resolve payment discrepancies
- Review delinquent accounts and contact patients to secure payment
- Create and maintain reports, spreadsheets and files
- Assist with claim submissions for OHIP, WSIB, Out of Province, DVA, Armed Forces and IFH as assigned.
- Answer phones, fax, email on account enquires and post payments to patient accounts.
- Cross-train across train to provide back-up coverage as needed. Providing customer service to patients/HHS staff, processing payments, preparing bank deposits, and other related services.
- Will perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

- Minimum 1-2 years accounting/finance experience
- Cashier or Call Centre experience considered an asset
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects with strict deadlines
- Proficiency in computers i.e. MS Office programs (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Excellent documentation abilities with attention to detail
- Proven interpersonal and communications skills across all levels of the organization with a customer service focus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility to meet departmental needs
- Previous health care accounting experience in a hospital environment is an asset
- Physically able to sit, stand, walk, occasional lift and/or carry approximately 20lbs
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
Additional Information
Status: Temporary Full-time (approx. 8 Months)Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour day shifts; 0800 - 1600 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $26.490 to $33.110
