This position reports to
Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to create the design of equipment, systems, or installations or modifies the pre-engineered designs for assignments by applying standard design concepts. Each day, you will assist in designing engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to specification.You will also showcase your expertise by participating in design reviews and design verification and modifying the design, as necessary.
This role is contributing to the insert product group Uvitec in Whitby Ontario.
You will be mainly accountable for:- Supporting the preparation of specific aspects of design assignments to meet the contractual obligations, adhering to safety, sustainability and quality requirements.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly
- Participate in products development and performance testing
- Ensuring that Bill of Materials for the project meets contractual obligations.
- Supporting product documentation and instructions
- Assisting technical risk assessments and implements the resulting actions in their projects.
- Participating in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.
- 2 or more years of experience as a Mechanical/Mechatronics Technician/Technologist.
- Proven ability to read and produce mechanical drawings.
- Advanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization.
- Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products and engineering design tools such as 3D CAD, CAM, CAE, and PLM software.
- Ability to travel in Canada and out of the country an asset. (available up to 20% in case of need).
