What is the Opportunity?
As the Director of Data & AI Product Management at RBC Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in the organization as we look to redefine processes across the business, and transform employee and client experiences through Data & Artificial Intelligence.You will develop, design and refine a comprehensive and industry leading data & AI strategy/vision and products which enable differentiated employee and client experiences across all parts of the RBCI value chain, ensuring alignment with our business goals and user needs.
As a highly skilled and visionary Director, you will also be responsible for creating the product vision/strategy, creating product roadmaps, and for leading agile teams to develop and deliver exceptional data and AI products that simplify the way RBCI conducts business across Claims, Underwriting, Sales & Distribution, Product, etc.
You will leverage both technical acumen in Data, traditional AI, generative AI and Product Management expertise to ensure material execution of our Data & AI product roadmap through strong collaboration with the business and technical leads.
What will you do?- Work with Stakeholders to define the business problem a product will solve and the benefits of solving said problem
- Leads a team of strong and proficient product managers
- Lead discovery for AI use cases to determine desirability, feasibility, usability and viability in partnership with business stakeholders and technical leads
- Effectively assess potential solution design options (i.e. build, buy, leverage internal capabilities) to determine optimal product design
- Effectively convey/communicate the product vision to the scrum teams, all stakeholders, and interested parties
- Collaborate and liase with key business partners and stakeholders in the Digital and Data, Business, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc., to conduct discovery, develop business cases and OKRs.
- Work with technical lead to translate road map components into technical elements for sprint planning
- Work with technical lead to understand delivery timelines, inhibitors to release, and work to overcome blockers
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Delivery team, and other team members/stakeholders to identify and execute agile change management and adoption and integration activities
- Develop consistent metrics for a group of products and their rationale for measuring success of the solutions (e.g. ROI), as well as the reporting methodology to track value realization.
- Evaluate business value achieved versus plan for the product and communicating outcomes to leadership & stakeholders
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in financial services sector with 10 years’ experience in leadership
- BBA, BSc. Or equivalent education
- CPO certification + demonstrated product management experience
- Understanding of Traditional AI and Generative AI, including general techniques/technologies and infrastructure requirements for enablement
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities
- Strong ability to effectively communicate and story-tell
- Experience guiding an agile team and leveraging knowledge of User experience (UX)/ technical / functional domain experts
- Experience in Kanban and Sprint methodologies / Agile delivery
- Previous experience leading and building data tools and architecting solutions
- Experience with designing creative, scalable consumer products that delight clients in partnership with technology and design counterparts
- Insurance industry experience
- MBA or MSc.
