Prepress Journeyperson - Part Time

Responsibilities:

When your actions lead to success:

• Prepare, check, and process all incoming print jobs (physical and digital) for production readiness
• Review job tickets, download files, and ensure all specifications meet customer and production requirements
• Create and manage process plans for screening, proofing, and plate production
• Verify output quality prior to plate creation and press release
• Ensure all prepress equipment and software systems are functioning properly
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to files, workflows, and production systems
• Collaborate with internal teams and respond to inquiries from production, press, and external customers
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with production standards and deadlines
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and workflow optimization
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with 5S standards
• Follow all health & safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements

Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 (preferred)
• Post-secondary education in Graphic Arts or related field considered an asset
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the printing industry (including apprenticeship training)
• Strong understanding of prepress processes, printing workflows, and production environments
• Experience with industry software such as:
• Prinergy
• Adobe Creative Suite
• FTP systems (e.g., Fetch)
• Job management/web-based production tools (e.g., Job Assistant)
• EAE, Print Dispo, Arkitex, Globetek (or similar systems)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
