The Team
Join our Guildford Child and Youth Mental Health Services team! We are a multicultural team working together to make a positive impact on families in the Surrey area. With a focus on person-centered care, we work collaboratively to support children, youth, and families up to age 19 through evidenced based and goal-oriented support.We collaborate with community partners to support children and youth facing mental health challenges through early intervention and long-term treatment.
Our diverse team values knowledge-sharing and mutual support, partnering closely with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. This team provides a welcoming and respectful environment where individuals can feel safe and supported to be able to serve the diverse families within the Fraser south communities.
The Role
In this role, you will provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth, and families. You will collaborate with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs while conducting individual, group, and family therapy.Being a vital piece of the multidisciplinary team, your work will contribute to the youth and their families feeling confident in their ability to move through change and navigate recovery. This role will provide an opportunity to work with a collaborative and passionate team to support the youth and families navigating challenges.
This role offers a hybrid model that may offer the opportunity to work from home up to 1 day a week, depending on operational needs based on flexible work agreements.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
- Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Preference may be given to applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
