Under limited supervision, the Unit Clerk is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties for the Women's Health nursing units (Post-Partum and Labour & Delivery) at the Rockyview Hospital. The Unit Clerk is instrumental in facilitating communication between nursing and other health disciplines, departments, patients and families, and in maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
The position is a major asset to the smooth and efficient operation of the Women's Health units. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments.
You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit. Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program. At least 1 year recent experience in a Unit Clerk position in Labour & Delivery, Maternity Triage & Postpartum is required.
Experience with Connect Care required Experience with MS Word and Excel required. Fluent in English and working knowledge of medical terminology is required. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize.

Must be able to cope with frequent interruptions and work under pressure within a stressful, demanding and rapidly changing environment. Experience with Netcare is required As Required.
