The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our People and Culture team for 12 months.

Reporting to the Vice President, People and Culture, the HR Business Partner is responsible for business enablement, using a collaborative approach with business leaders to continually develop an understanding of the business to resolve business issues and provide solutions to support our leaders and employees.

What your day looks like:

  • Collaborate and work proactively with business leaders to identify key issues impacting operational goals, and offer solutions that align with Aviso’s strategic objectives
  • Cultivate leadership capability across Aviso to increase organizational effectiveness
  • Serve as a coach and confidante to leaders around people, organizational issues, leadership development, staff planning activities and act as an advocate for colleagues
  • Collaborate with Aviso’s Talent and Total Rewards teams
  • Participating in communicating, facilitating, presenting, and implementing HR programs at the business unit and departmental level
  • Actively participate in HR project work, such as implementing new human resources strategies for specific divisions or the organization as a whole
  • Act as an Aviso brand ambassador both internally and externally, supporting Aviso’s Mission, Vision and Values as well as the company’s strategic objectives
  • Become a key enabler to the business as it drives engagement by counseling, guiding, facilitating, and allowing the business to own employee engagement and the sustainment of culture

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field
  • CHRP is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources in a complex environment
  • Experience working in a financial services company an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment related laws, standards and regulations
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships, including interfacing and communicating effectively with employees at different levels across the organization
  • Ability to coach, facilitate, influence and negotiate in order to reach consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes
  • Highly flexible, good tolerance for ambiguity and time-driven deadlines and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) coupled with strong interpersonal skills both in one-on-one and in group settings
  • Fluent communications in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $83,000 - $100,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
