Your Opportunity at SECURE:
As our Asset Integrity & Preventative Maintenance Intern you will be responsible for managing Safety Relief Valve inventory, verify design requirements, and support small-scale piping projects while ensuring compliance with ASME B31 and SECURE’s specifications.You will collaborate with vendors, manage Piping Quality Control documentation, and help implement the Fiix Preventative Maintenance Program. Additionally, you will support asset inspection, repairs, and regulatory compliance. Working independently and with teams, you will enhance safety, reduce costs, and minimize downtime.
This role is based out of Calgary, Alberta.

The Technical Services team at SECURE delivers expert solutions to improve operations, boost performance, and drive innovation. Specializing in safe, efficient infrastructure projects and managing well health, geology, and project execution, the team is committed to quality, sustainability, and operational excellence while fostering a culture of safety, knowledge sharing, and reliable results.
Work Environment:
This is an in-office, 40-hour-per-week position structured as a 12-16-month fixed term contract.
A Day in The Life:
- Assist with inventory management of Safety Relief Valves.
- Audit, tag, and verify design requirements.
- Support small-scale process piping and replacement-in-kind projects.
- Ensure compliance with ASME B31 and SECURE’s Corporate Specifications.
- Collaborate with approved vendors, fabricators, and Owner Inspectors.
- Review and manage Piping Quality Control documentation.
- Assist in developing and implementing the Fiix Preventative Maintenance Program for 50+ facilities.
- Support standardization and oversight of asset inspection, PM, repairs, equipment standardization, and regulatory compliance.
- Work with SECURE's Asset Integrity, Preventative Maintenance Teams, and Operations leaders to implement governance programs.
- Complete assigned projects on time with diligence and quality.
- Work independently and collaboratively to enhance safety, reduce costs, and minimize downtime.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a Process or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and shutdown keys.
- Basic understanding of process piping and ASME B31 Code.
- Fundamental knowledge of industrial processes.
- Strong computer and application skills.
- A customer-focused mindset, always looking for ways to help (“How can I help?” mentality).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders.
- A strong desire for continuous learning and a willingness to take on new challenges.
