Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for general facility maintenance, equipment installation, preventive maintenance & facility cleanliness at both plants
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facility equipment
  • Address and repair any issues related to building infrastructure, such as lighting, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards. Maintain a safe working environment by following established safety procedures
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders promptly and efficiently. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks
  • Work closely with other departments and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to facility operations

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in facilities maintenance or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to be insured
  • Forklift truck and material handling experience an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude to help understand how to operate machinery and complete minor repairs
  • Familiar with MS Office software and basic computer use
  • Safety first mindset
