Heli-One Canada is looking for an HRBP based in our Delta or Richmond location supporting our Helicopter Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. This exciting opportunity plays a critical role in aligning HR strategies with business operations.We seek a candidate with a stellar track record, especially within the dynamic realms of aviation, aerospace, or a related technical industry. You will be at the forefront of supporting employee relations, ensuring compliance, driving talent management, handling union relations, and championing HR best practices to empower a high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & HR Compliance:
- Inspire and guide management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation vital for the dynamic aviation and MRO sectors.
- Provide guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling in compliance with our union agreements and Transport Canada regulations.
- Ensure adherence to WorkSafeBC safety and HR regulations within a high-risk, safety-critical environment.
- Support recruitment process strategically aligned with operational demands.
HR Operations & Support:
- Collaborate on payroll, benefits administration, and working closely with HR COE’s and finance teams as required.
- Support HR reporting and analytics, providing insights on turnover, engagement, and workforce trends.
Employee Equity Initiatives:
- Support HR programs aimed at achieving employee equity.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in aviation, aerospace, or a technical field (MRO experience is a strong asset).
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the BC Employment Standards Act, Canadian labor laws, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Experience working in unionized and non-unionized environments required.
- Familiarity with aviation/MRO regulatory compliance (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and HR reporting tools.
- CPHR or SHRM certification is an asset.
- Helicopters are cool and working in aviation is always interesting!
