Systems Design Engineer

Context:
The system design engineer develops the design of telecommunications systems, PCCs, SCADA systems, IT infrastructures, operating and maintenance systems. They plan, organize and manage the technical aspects of the projects assigned to them.
Missions/Main Duties:
Administrative:
- Technical evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies for IT & telecom systems and associated power supply equipment;
- Estimation of project capital expenditure (CAPEX) and corresponding annual operation and maintenance (OPEX) budgets;
- Drafting of technical specifications and tender documents;
- Drafting of reports to clients and Systra management.
Project management:
- Organization and coordination of the engineering disciplines involved in its projects and validation of the interdisciplinary consistency of plans and specifications;
- Establishment and monitoring of progress indicators for deliverables, and implementation of corrective action plans where necessary;
- Analysis of technical problems in project execution and search for appropriate solutions;
- Validation of contractors' tests on site.
Profile/Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, specializing in telecommunications or computer science.Years of experience: At least 10 years' experience in telecommunications and IT systems.
Technical competencies:
- Member OIQ;
- Relevant experience in construction supervision (1 to 2 years);
- Relevant experience in computer and telecommunications systems design (8 to 9 years);
- Relevant railway experience;
- Practical and theoretical knowledge: transmission networks, radio communications, fiber optics, telephony, internet and wireless networks, public address, video surveillance, passenger information systems, ticketing, PCC, SCADA, intrusion detection, access control, passenger counting.
Personal and soft skills:
- Excellent ability to write concisely and clearly;
- Excellent ability to express ideas;
- Excellent synthesis skills;
- Ability to adapt to difficult and new environments;
- Ability to work with minimum direction;
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, in French and English*
