While currently an Expression of Interest, here is a peak at what you could be doing. As a Series Director, you will oversee the creative execution of our CG animated series, ensuring that the production aligns with the project's vision while meeting quality and schedule expectations.You will lead and collaborate with creative teams, providing guidance, feedback, and solutions to bring the story to life.
What You Could Be Doing- Oversee and supervise all creative leads and artists throughout the production process, providing ideas, making decisions, and resolving creative roadblocks.
- Motivate and inspire the crew to push creative boundaries and share new ideas.
- Ensure the production’s overall creative vision is understood and executed by the creative team.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with client side creative team, executive producers and stakeholders—maintaining confidence in your creative direction while remaining open to alternate ideas.
- Review and approve all creative materials, including storyboards and animatics, before distribution.
- Provide creative input and direction during voice recording sessions.
- Ensure all artwork is reviewed and approved before key meetings.
- Read and provide feedback on all script drafts to ensure they align with the creative vision and are feasible within the production schedule.
- Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines outlined in the weekly and overall production schedules.
- Notify the Producer in advance of any creative challenges that may impact timelines.
- Be available to travel as needed, both locally and internationally, based on production needs.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring- Proven experience as a Series Director or a similar leadership role in a CG animated TV production.
- Extensive experience in animation, storyboarding, and directing animated content.
- Strong understanding of storytelling, cinematography, and character performance.
- Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to guide a creative team while balancing artistic vision with production constraints.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to offer creative and technical solutions.
- A portfolio showcasing:
- Strong visual storytelling and directing skills.
- Experience in planning and executing animation sequences.
Benefits
Pay Range: CAD $2500 - $2800 per week
This salary range provided reflects our current expectations for these roles as of this posting’s date. Your final salary offer will consider various key factors, including your education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographical location, as well as the needs and requirements of the business.
