Adecco is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a 5-month contract role in Kanata, ON, offering $40/hour. Join a cross-functional team in the Aerospace/Space industry, working on cutting-edge software for space-based systems used in Earth observation, atmospheric monitoring, and optical communications.

You’ll contribute to the full development lifecycle—design, implementation, testing, and delivery—of high-performance, reliable software.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with CSA, NASA, and ESA standards while supporting real-world space missions. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and qualify for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Controlled Security Program (CSP) clearance.

  • Pay rate: $40/hour.
  • Location: Kanata, ON
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Job type: 5-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded and application-level software for space products.
  • Analyze requirements, contribute to system design, and support validation activities.
  • Create technical documentation in accordance with industry and agency standards (CSA, NASA, ESA).
  • Troubleshoot systems and software issues and assist in hardware/software integration.
  • Engage in system modelling, simulation, and continuous process improvement.
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in C# and Python.
  • Experience with Windows application-level development tools and methodologies.
  • Eligible for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Controlled Security Program (CSP) clearance.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with ASCOM, Ethernet, and serial communication protocols.
  • Understanding of the Aerospace/Space software development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Jira, GitHub, SQL, and simulation tools like MATLAB.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
