Software Engineer - Toronto
You’ll contribute to the full development lifecycle—design, implementation, testing, and delivery—of high-performance, reliable software.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with CSA, NASA, and ESA standards while supporting real-world space missions. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and qualify for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Controlled Security Program (CSP) clearance.
- Pay rate: $40/hour.
- Location: Kanata, ON
- Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
- Job type: 5-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded and application-level software for space products.
- Analyze requirements, contribute to system design, and support validation activities.
- Create technical documentation in accordance with industry and agency standards (CSA, NASA, ESA).
- Troubleshoot systems and software issues and assist in hardware/software integration.
- Engage in system modelling, simulation, and continuous process improvement.
- Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in C# and Python.
- Experience with Windows application-level development tools and methodologies.
- Eligible for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Controlled Security Program (CSP) clearance.
- Experience with Linux/UNIX embedded systems.
- Familiarity with ASCOM, Ethernet, and serial communication protocols.
- Understanding of the Aerospace/Space software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of Jira, GitHub, SQL, and simulation tools like MATLAB.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
