As a Flight Follower and Operations Control Center (OCC) coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of Starlink Aviation's operations. You will work closely with pilots, flight coordinators, the operations control center, and maintenance departments to coordinate and manage all aspects of flight operations.
Your main responsibilities are as follows:
- Plan flight routes, considering factors such as weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and aircraft performance;
- Calculate and determine optimal fuel loads, taking into account variables like distance, alternate airports, and anticipated delays;
- Maintain communication with pilots during flights, providing assistance and making adjustments as needed;
- Establish effective communication channels with pilots, crews, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations;
- Monitor weather conditions and provide updates to crews, as well as control and analyze real-time operational performance, including departures, arrivals, delays, and disruptions;
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to track aircraft availability and manage operational disruptions, such as weather events and maintenance issues;
- Contribute to resolving operational problems, coordinating with relevant parties, and implementing appropriate solutions;
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including those related to flight planning, safety, and security;
- Maintain accurate records of all flight-related information, including flight plans and communication logs;
- Supervise activities in the operations control center to ensure compliance with company and regulatory procedures;
- Conduct quality investigations and implement corrective measures;
- ·Stay informed of industry regulations, best practices, and technological advances, and implement relevant improvements;
- Perform any other related duties as required.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, including flight planning procedures, aircraft performance limitations, and industry best practices;
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a flight follower or flight dispatcher;
- Proven experience in an aviation operations environment, preferably in an operations control center;
- Strong knowledge of meteorology and ability to interpret weather reports and forecasts;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English; proficiency in an additional language is considered a valuable asset;
- Proficiency in flight planning and aviation operations software, as well as communication systems and other relevant technologies;
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in high-pressure and time-sensitive situations;
- Attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and multitasking abilities to manage multiple flights and changing priorities simultaneously;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining professionalism and composure under stressful conditions;
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 control center coverage;
- Commitment to safety and a customer-focused mindset.
