Surgical Clinical Analyst - Corporate OR Business Center
The analyst will be able to analyze user requirements and define project scope. Provision of scheduled and ad-hoc reports to management, surgeons, nurses and clinicians. Enforce corporate system architecture and department standards through detailed design specifications.
Will be able to manage Microsoft SharePoint, and Crystal Reports, maintenance and management for multi-campus end users, Development and execution of SQL scripts to support PICIS interoperability in data transaction to other hospital information systems.
Development and maintenance of automated custom reports (cancellations, OR lists, Wait Times, PAT). Provide production application support PICIS OR Manager. Work closely with developers and end users to resolve issues. Liaison between end user and Information systems for all OR applications, Liaison with CCO, MMC & PICIS.
Follow change control procedures to manage project scope.
Accountabilities:
- Case record submission to Canadian Joint Registry (CJR), Surgical Efficiency Target Program (SETP), Cost Costing, Endo DSP and other OH reporting as required, including correction of charts/data and statistical analysis of procedures
- Report extraction and analysis for the OR managers and director, development of SQL queries and Crystal reports, analysis of scheduling accuracy, monitoring surgical booking issues, nurse case documentation issues
- Participation in monthly Wait Time and SETP CCO teleconferences, extract monthly and weekly wait time data
- Responsible for creating the surgical operational and quality scorecards which include surgical utilization analysis, OR utilization, efficiency metrics with the ability to identify trends and areas for improved efficiencies. Ability to present findings to corporate surgical committees. Provide reports and extract data for the various departments within the program support new data reports within the cystoscopy/endoscopy areas and surgical inpatient units
- Initiate data validation with OR and Endoscopy case costing with reporting to the case costing team. Generate reports on a monthly basis, upload data to be shared with the team and follow up with issues.
- Liaison of clinicians within the surgical area with IT: participation in monthly meetings with IT, work with the health informatics team
- Work closely with the OR Supply Chain department to ensure flow of data from bookings to purchasing meet budget constraints and efficiency goals
- Assisting in quality improvement activities to improve data quality and consults on data quality issues and data collection methodologies.
- Effectively demonstrates working in a team environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics / Computer Science / Statistics / or Business Management (with a combination of hospital's previous working experience and proven database and analytical technical skills)
- Minimum 5 years experience working on SQL with advanced understanding of relational databases, queries and report structuring.
- Minimum 2 years experience of statistical analysis
- Minimum 1-2 years experience working on PICIS OR Manager (as administrator) specifically SQL of PICIS OR Manager
- Report development in Crystal Reports an asset
- Advanced MS Excel skills required for data manipulation
- Previous experience working in a surgical program
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

DURATION: Approximately twenty-two (22) months or until the previous incumbent returns.
Hours: Currently days, Monday to Friday in an onsite first role that frequently supports direct patient care and has dedicated hours when they are available to patients, team members and/or other partners (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
Salary:Minimum: $39.59 per hour
Maximum: $49.49 per hour
