Adecco is currently seeking a dynamic and strategic Marketing Specialist to lead external communications for our client, for a leading global tech company based in Toronto. This role is a 9-month contract position offering the opportunity to develop high-impact communications strategies, create media outreach plans, and manage key internal and external relationships.

- Pay rate: $75.20/hour.
- Location: Toronto, ON
- Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:30pm
- Job type: 9-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:
- Own the development of end-to-end external communications strategies, including crafting messages, pitches, and story angles. This includes writing executive thought leadership pieces for industry publications, creating social media copy (especially for platforms like Twitter), and preparing key messages for briefings.
- Build and maintain relationships with key consumer, product, and business press to advance the company’s reputational efforts.
- Partner with marketing, partnerships, policy, and legal teams on ongoing events, campaigns, and reporter briefings.
- Support executive communications for company leadership in Canada, including organizing keynotes, press briefings, and public engagements.
- Train and guide company officials for press activities. Manage external agencies to support day-to-day inquiries, special projects, and events.
- Collaborate with the Canada Communications team on files impacting the business.
- Ensure a consistent, clear, and impactful message is communicated across multiple channels and audiences.
- Maintain good judgment and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment, executing multiple projects simultaneously with high organization and adaptability.
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in communications within a business, social media, traditional media, or similar environment.
- A strong track record of developing and executing impactful media campaigns in-market.
- Ability to focus, prioritize, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience managing multiple stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience managing communications related to company operations or reputational issues.
- Demonstrable success in planning and executing integrated, scalable media campaigns.
- Established network of media contacts, influencers, and other stakeholders.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to simplify complex information and communicate clearly.
