We are in need of an Intermediate Accountant for our Shipping industry operations located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity and involves a hybrid work model.

• Handle full cycle accounting duties, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing
• Assist with financial statement preparation and perform variance analysis against budget
• Administer multiple retirement plans, including solvency payments and invoice processing
• Maintain responsibility for payroll functions, including processing for a range of employee types and numbers across different office locations
• Conduct benefits administration tasks, like enrolling and terminating employees
• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations
• Utilize various accounting software systems, including ADP Workforce Now and Dynamics SL
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP in all accounting functions
• Manage full cycle payroll for both union and non-union employees, including bi-weekly processing and payroll tax computation.
