What we are looking for:

As a member of the Laboratory Services Team, you will perform various duties including:

  • Venipuncture for Blood Collection and ECGs
  • Specimen processing and handling
  • Specimen Loading
  • Instrument Maintenance

What you bring to the role:

  • Completion of a recognized laboratory assistant program
  • MLPAO Certification is required
  • Previous recent related experience; preferably in a hospital environment
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric patients
  • Good knowledge of specimen collection requirements
  • Current ECG (MUSE) experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with computers; Meditech Expanse and Hand Held Phlebotomy experience are an asset
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal well with patients and the public
  • Ability to work in a high volume setting
  • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Work Schedule:

Mon-Sun Rotating, Days, Evenings, Nights, Week Ends and Holidays. 4 or 8 Hrs Shift

Compensation: OPS01
Range: $32.60 - $37.27
