Junior Structural Designer - Restoration

Entuitive is looking for a Junior Structural Designer, with experience or an interest in restoration of existing structures, based in our Toronto office. Take the opportunity to learn more about the restoration service at Entuitive.

What will you do?- A mix of office and field work
Office work typically includes:
- Writing reports based on observations, assessments, and key findings including Condition Assessment Reports
- Developing written recommendations for necessary repairs and working with the client to prioritize those repairs
- Preparation of Structural designs and Restoration detail drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Working with the project team from initial evaluation through design to construction completion
- Review of submittals and shop drawings during construction
- Generation of contract administration documentation and assisting with contract administration duties throughout construction
Field work typically includes:
- Investigation and condition assessments of existing structural systems for buildings and parking facilities to identify the extent and cause of deterioration
- Working with structural restoration engineers during investigation and testing of post-tension facilities
- Attendance at construction progress meetings
- Completion of periodic field review during construction
Requirements
What do you need to succeed?- An applicable degree or diploma from an accredited school.
- A new graduate with co-op experience, or up to 2 years of hands-on construction experience and/or work with existing facilities is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis
- Interest in applying new technology to support project processes
- A working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete repair and restoration, corrosion protection, traffic toppings, expansion joints and waterproofing systems,
- Must have a valid driver’s license
