Responsibilities
Tasks- Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation
- Operate heavy equipment
- Use International Organization for Standardization (ISO) pattern joystick controls
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
- Measure distance, volume, length and weight
- Operate computer controlled equipment
- Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Prepare accident reports
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
- Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
- Perform minor repairs to equipment
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems
