Your Career as an Engagement Specialist (unilingual or bilingual):
The Engagement Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional service to clients’ shareholders, ensuring the successful execution of various mandates (e.g., annual shareholder meetings, mergers, tender offers, contested meetings). You will develop expertise in financial terminology and the proxy voting process (proxy solicitation) and corporate actions process (corporate actions events).
Key tasks include outreach to shareholders providing direct support to facilitate informed decision‑making. Engaging shareholders by providing end‑to‑end support for proxy voting and corporate actions events, including control number assistance and vote capture, guiding shareholders and noteholders through corporate action events, including tender offers, consent solicitations, and noteholder voting and completing documentation or electronic processes for participating in corporate action events.
Requirements
Position Details:
- Contract: Till 31 Dec, 2026.
- Location: Office-based, with all necessary equipment (including a laptop) provided.
- Shifts: Day and evening shifts are assigned based on candidate qualifications and business needs, operating between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM EST on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST on Saturdays, with flexibility to work Sundays as required. Shifts are up to 8 hours per day, with potential overtime.
- Hourly rate: $18 to $25 per hour.

- We are seeking both unilingual English-speaking candidates and bilingual candidates fluent in both English and French (Quebecois preferred).
How You Will Contribute:
- Lead outbound calls to key shareholders and manage multichannel communication (inbound, outbound, email, chat, SMS).
- Effectively explain proxy concepts and corporate action mandates to shareholders.
- Provide exceptional service, assisting shareholders with voting, acting as an information agent, and supporting corporate action events.
- Communicate tailored messages based on each client’s needs.
- Document call details per standard operating procedures and report on gathered intelligence as required.
- Meet or exceed call center KPIs, including focus on call quality targets.
- Report client issues or concerns that could impact the mandate to the manager immediately.
- Conduct research to locate contact information for shareholders.
- Take on other duties as assigned to ensure successful outcomes for clients.
Qualifications & Attributes:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex proxy voting and corporate action concepts clearly and professionally to diverse shareholders.
- Demonstrated experience in client service, call‑center environments, investor relations, or shareholder engagement, with comfort handling high‑volume outbound and inbound interactions.
- Calm, diplomatic, and professional when engaging with shareholders who may be frustrated, confused, or resistant, particularly in time‑sensitive or high‑pressure situations.
- Strong listening, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify concerns, capture sentiment, and escalate issues appropriately.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when documenting interactions, capturing intelligence, and following standard operating procedures.
- Adaptable and dependable, with the ability to manage shifting priorities, flexible schedules, and changing workloads during peak periods.
- Comfortable learning industry‑specific processes and technology, with strong digital literacy and the ability to work across multiple systems and communication platforms.
- Self‑motivated and career‑oriented, with an interest in finance, corporate governance, and developing long‑term expertise in the proxy solicitation industry.
- College or university education in business or finance is preferred; related industry experience is considered an asset.
