Job description:
Our IHOP Restaurant in Niagara Falls, Ontario is currently seeking highly enthusiastic candidates to fulfil the General Manager position. As a team member at IHOP Canada, you will work on a variety of stations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations, encompassing food safety, preparation, and overall restaurant management, in alignment with IHOP's established protocols.
- Uphold cost control measures by monitoring portion control, minimising wastage, and upholding standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Establish, enforce, and adhere to sanitation standards and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for both guests and staff, while staying compliant with legal regulations.
- Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills by promptly and adeptly addressing and resolving guest complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Lead by example in delivering superior service, setting the bar for exceptional customer interactions, and consistently exceeding guest expectations.
- Oversee all aspects of employee management, including recruitment, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management, aligned with company guidelines.
- Drive positive and sustainable sales growth, surpassing company objectives across all profit and loss categories.
- Create a positive work atmosphere by providing regular and constructive feedback to team members, fostering their professional growth within the organisation.
- Conduct thorough galley line checks throughout shifts, ensuring adherence to precise standards for weights, temperatures, cleanliness, and organisational guidelines.
- Play a pivotal role in the selection and on-boarding of new employees, conducting comprehensive orientations to ensure a seamless integration into the IHOP team.
- Maintain accurate and timely completion of all essential reports and paperwork, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
- Ensure flawless execution of food production, following prescribed company recipes and preparation checklists, guaranteeing consistently exceptional culinary offerings.
- Prioritise the safety of both staff and guests, proactively mitigating potential risks and creating a secure environment through effective protocols.
Job Requirements:
- 3-5 Years full-service restaurant experience.
- Leadership and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanour during stressful and/or busy times.

Experience:
- Restaurant management: 2 years (preferred)
