Position Summary:

Tacten is currently hiring Rope Access Journeyperson Insulators to support upcoming work at Shell Scotford in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our team, performing high-angle tasks with precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety.

Position Details:

  • JM Rate: Starting at $47.16/hour + IRATA Uplift
  • Rotation: 4 days on / 3 days off
  • Shifts: 10-hour days (straight time)
  • Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Start Date: July 7
  • Duration: 2 months, with the potential for extension
  • Location: Shell Scotford, Fort Saskatchewan, AB
  • Locals required

Responsibilities:

  • Install insulation materials, such as foam, fiberglass, or mineral wool, to prevent heat transfer, reduce energy consumption, or control sound.
  • Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific areas.
  • Secure insulation in place using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
  • Regularly inspect insulation for signs of wear, damage, or degradation.
  • Replace or repair insulation that has become compromised.
  • Recommend and implement improvements or upgrades to enhance insulation performance.
  • Consult with clients or project managers to determine insulation needs based on factors like temperature requirements, acoustic considerations, or electrical insulation needs.
  • Provide recommendations on the most suitable insulation materials and techniques for different environments.
  • Collaborate with construction or maintenance teams to ensure proper installation according to specifications.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Insulator or equivalent hours required
  • Minimum IRATA Level 1 required. Ability to hire those with IRATA Level 2 and 3 as well
Safety Certifications
  • CSTS-2020 or ESC CSO
  • CSE/M (Confined Space and Monitor and Entry)
  • ESC Fall Protection an asset
