Warehouse Operations Lead

Overview:

The Warehouse Operations Lead has general responsibility to assist in coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for directing work assignments in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with shift leadership to accomplish shift goals
  • Oversees and coordinates warehouse processes such as receiving, put away, picking, and loading of products.
  • Directs work assignments to employees
  • Provide daily hands-on support in Material Handling and Forklift responsibilities
  • Drives compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives
  • Brainstorms and suggests new ideas on how to improve processes to supervisor
  • Communicates professionally, both orally and written, to internal and external partners
  • Communicate problems, concerns, and ideas to management; assists in finding solutions to problem areas.
  • Ensures efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment
  • Trains new and current employees on operational SOPs and WIs
  • Ensures the warehouse is clean and orderly; including but not limited to organizing and rotating inventory, maintaining product labels, sweeping warehouse, and assist in staging orders for delivery
  • Ensure product is stored safely and in the proper place.
  • Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Additional duties as assigned by the warehouse supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management System
  • Computer applications using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
  • Good visual acuity to inspect shipments.
  • Ability to input data on the computer to create a daily inventory report.
  • Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying items received.
  • Strong time management, organizational, planning and self-motivation skills.
  • MHE experience or desire to learn MHE.
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
