Director of Operations

Adecco is actively seeking a Director of Operations to oversee multiple construction projects, manage internal and external teams, and drive strategic project goals for our client. The position offers a competitive annual salary of $180,000 to $200,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

This is a full-time opportunity based in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple construction projects, ensuring that quality, budget, and timeline targets are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to identify resource needs and priorities across all projects.
  • Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts, ensuring projects adhere to financial goals and track expenditures.
  • Oversee project procurement, manage trade partner selection, and lead contract negotiations to ensure cost-efficiency and quality standards.
  • Lead internal and external project teams, ensuring clear communication and coordination throughout project phases.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities to secure permits and approvals for project execution.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and team health.
  • Prepare monthly project status reports for stakeholders and develop risk mitigation strategies to address unforeseen issues.
  • Establish and implement standard operating procedures across all construction projects.
  • Supervise commissioning and handover procedures to ensure that client expectations are met, and projects are delivered successfully.
  • Assist with pursuits, pre-construction planning, and bid-closing to support the company’s project pipeline.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and lessons-learned sessions to drive continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports, providing performance feedback and leadership development.

Requirements:

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in ICI and/or multi-residential construction.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in project pursuits, estimating, or similar fields.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing large, complex teams.
  • Solid understanding of estimating, proposal fundamentals, and project management software.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction/Project Management, or related discipline, or relevant technical diploma/certificate with corresponding experience.
  • Professional designations such as P.Eng., M.Eng., LEED, PMP are considered an asset.
