Early Childhood Educator - Special Needs & IT Support

Job Duties:

• Plan, create, and implement age-appropriate Montessori-based learning activities for infants, toddlers, and young children, including those with special needs.
• Provide specialized care and educational support to children with developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and diverse learning needs, using individualized education and support plans.
• Observe children and record developmental progress, behaviours, and learning needs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support children with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and rest time.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress and needs.
• Assist in organizing classroom materials and setting up learning areas.
• Follow licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and school policies.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to support classroom and program goals.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an Early Childhood Educator certificate or diploma.
• A valid ECE license to practice in British Columbia is necessary.
• Special Needs Educator Certificate (SNE) is required.
• Infant and Toddler Educator Certificate (ITE) is required.
• Strong patience and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for children.
• First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
