The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a System Network Administrator to join our IT team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Centre and Cloud Operations, the System Network Administrator is responsible for the design and implementation of solutions and/or new processes of computerized methods for network support, optimization, security component hardening and maintain system documentation.

What your day looks like:

  • Maintain primary responsibility and technical oversight for the engineering, configuration, implementation, maintenance and support of LAN/WAN, UC, Telephony, VoIP and operations
  • Configuring and maintaining the functionality and security of the Aviso’s network infrastructure, including but not limited to router, switch, firewall, and VPN configurations
  • Ensuring appropriate event logging is in place on the mission critical devices for audit purposes
  • Monitor resource allocation of the server and network infrastructure, assist IT manager with forecasting future hardware and software needs
  • Maintain the Disaster Recovery environment and assist with periodic DR tests to ensure functionality and recovery point objectives can be met
  • Help support the administration of all Aviso’s applications that reside on the servers and may include working with the business units for new implementations or with application administrators to resolve problems that occur
  • Testing, applying, and troubleshooting all new software patches as they become available

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required
  • Professional certification (e.g. Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator PCNSA or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer PCNSE)
  • 3+ of engineering experience with Internet, WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, VPN, VoIP, Telephony and Cisco technical infrastructure and operations in an enterprise environment
  • VMWare and HyperV experience is required
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise’ level SAN
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
