We are currently seeing a Mechanical Engineer for a 6-month contract (with a chance of extension for the right fit) to standardize, design, and document various pumping systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on, project-focused role and has a strong ability to implement best practices, design pumping systems, and create detailed technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Standardization: Develop and implement standards and best practices for the design, installation, and operation of pumping systems within an expanding tailings operation.
  • System Design & Drawings: Create detailed designs and drawings for pumping systems, including elevations, plans, isometrics, and layout specifications.
  • Documentation: Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for each system, including Bill of Materials (BOM) and installation processes (ITPs).
  • Software Use: Utilize AutoCAD for the design of pumping systems and ensure that all designs meet industry standards and operational requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with site personnel and other engineers to ensure successful implementation and adherence to design specifications.

The role is site-based, and candidates must be comfortable with a fly-in/fly-out work arrangement from either Calgary or Edmonton. Camp accommodations are provided while on site. The Schedule is 4 on 3 off 10 hour days.

Requirements
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering Must be capable of stamping designs and drawing.
  • Minimum of 4years’ experience in pumping system design, particularly in the mining, oil and gas, or energy sectors.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for the creation of technical drawings (elevations, isometrics, layouts, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of pump installation processes, system specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Previous site-based experience is highly desirable; comfortable with fly-in/fly-out arrangements.
  • Are you currently eligible to work in Canada? (For example permanent resident, valid work permit, etc).
