AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Provide project, program, and administrative support to the Youth Program & Initiatives team. Ensures efficient and effective delivery of programs and services by providing direct functional support and responds to inquiries Youth related initiatives received by the Office of the CAO.
- Provide program assistance and support for initiatives, programs, processes, projects, and events.
- Respond to inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services to meet divisional service standards.
- Independently fulfills administrative and program duties as related to area of work, including correspondence, documentation, minute taking, preparing memos and reports and presentations.
- Support project leads in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of divisional policies, programs, and special events.
- Participate in working groups and brainstorming sessions to provide input, ideas, and insights.
- Assist with data entry and management.
- Perform qualitative/quantitative research and analysis in a technical and/or specialized discipline to identify trends, industry best practices, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work with both internal and external stakeholders to complete projects, where applicable.
- Support the Youth Program & Initiatives team in implementing the Youth Engagement Strategy and its initiatives across the Organization.
- Support the Youth Program & Initiatives team with planning and organizing the Brampton Youth Connect events and activities; and all associated tasks with leading the coordination of events, outreach, and consultations.
- Support the development of internal systems and processes for Youth-related initiatives.
- Provide support with coordinating other youth-related initiatives and activities led by City of Brampton divisions/departments, when required.
- Prepare project and program updates for review by management.
- Maintain confidentiality based on the requirement to access and maintain sensitive sectional or divisional and organizational communication, reports, materials, and records.
- Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
- Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Student must be currently enrolled in a Undergraduate or Graduate Social Work, Social Sciences, Education, Business Administration, Public Administration similar or equivalent program.
- Student must be enrolled in any University or College. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to the job offer.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Demonstrated working knowledge of discipline-specific principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Possess strong computer skills, e.g., MS Office programs, including MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Practical knowledge of applicable software(s) within discipline.
