About Our Client

Our client is a well-established construction firm specializing in commercial and manufacturing projects. We are seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead our growing team, oversee project execution, and drive operational excellence.

Job Description
  • Oversee 10-20 team members, including Project Managers, Estimators, Project Coordinators, Payroll, HR, and Administrative staff
  • Lead operational strategy, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards
  • Act as a liaison with the controller on financial matters, including AP/AR, budgets, and cost control
  • Hire, mentor, and develop top talent, conducting performance and salary reviews
  • Manage and resolve daily operational challenges, improving efficiency and morale across office and site teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, reviewing policies with the Safety Officer and enforcing company standards
  • Lead contract negotiations for equipment, tools, and fleet purchases with shareholders
  • Handle WSIB and insurance claims, working to resolve union disputes as needed
  • Attend all shareholder board meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making
  • Oversee and review job cost reports, project schedules, and site superintendent reports

The Successful Applicant
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in ICI construction (commercial & manufacturing)
  • Proven ability to balance operational oversight with hands-on project involvement
  • Strong leadership skills, able to work collaboratively with both office and site teams
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience managing budgets, contracts, and cost controls
  • Passion for mentoring and developing talent within an organization
  • Safety-conscious mindset, ensuring compliance and best practices across projects
