Director, Home Appliances Product Management - Toronto
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Home Appliances Product Management, is responsible for developing the overall product strategy within the Home Appliances business unit. The incumbent will collaborate on the development of marketing objectives and programs to achieve volume, profit, market share, and other goals.Responsibilities include the development, planning, and management of technology as it involves carriers, vendors, and technology providers. The incumbent will be playing a key role in communicating with LG’s HQ, located in Seoul, Korea.
Bilingualism in Korean and English is required for this position.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Management- Product Road Map management;
- Build product lineup and strategy for the Canadian market;
- Build Channel Distribution & Retail Strategy;
- New product launch planning;
- Manage product lifecycle (EOL);
- Present product strategy and spec to internal team and customers;
- Master of PRM and give training to internal team and customers;
- Prepare customer collaboration, market analysis, product research, competitive landscape snapshot, channel inventory analysis.
- Build price strategy for all products and channels;
- Build Pre-Planned Promotion for 12 weeks ahead and communicate promo to internal team and channel;
- Negotiate MDF plan and funding support discussions;
- Sales deduction planning and management.
- Responsible for Inventory Management (month end report, build plan to move long term inventory);
- Weekly and Monthly demand management;
- Communicate with factory to resolve any business-related issue;
- Leading consensus meeting to forecast demand;
- Conduct CPFR meeting;
- Supply chain management work close with logistic team;
- Weekly S&OP meeting;
- WOS and channel inventory management;
- Sell-in / through management.
- Responsible for marketing communication on new product;
- Plan with Mar Com for advertising, sales communication, in-store display.
- Represent the product, along with National/ Regional Sales Team for partner meetings;
- Present product strategy road map to customer;
- Build relationships with customers and regularly visit and conduct meetings with customers.
- Manage all aspects of the business unit;
- Sample management;
- Conduct a conference call with HQ;
- Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments and organizations.
- Answer telephone and electronic enquiries and relay telephone calls and messages;
- Determine and establish office procedures;
- Greet visitors, ascertain nature of business and direct visitors to employer or appropriate person;
- Record and prepare minutes of meetings;
- Arrange travel schedules and make reservations;
- Compile data, statistics and other information to support research activities;
- Supervision and training office staff in procedures and in the use of current software;
- Organization of conferences.
- Bilingualism in Korean and English is required;
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or another relevant discipline;
- Strong track record of effective leadership;
- 7+ years’ experience in a Product Management role;
- Experience with Product Road Mapping is required;
- Experience in the Consumer Electronics industry an asset;
- Bilingualism in Korean and English is an asset;
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting;
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PPT and Word;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills;
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
