Adecco is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Safety Consultant to join our team in Toronto. This full-time role offers exceptional autonomy, allowing you to schedule your own inspections and report writing from home, with occasional in-person meetings at our office in Toronto.

The role involves working directly with manufacturing clients to ensure their equipment safeguarding systems comply with health and safety standards, with a focus on the Pre-start Health and Safety Reviews (PSR) and machine safety systems. If you’re a self-starter with extensive knowledge in machine safety, this is an exciting opportunity to work independently while contributing to the safety of industrial environments across Ontario.

  • Pay Rate: $100k-$130k/year.

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with manufacturing clients to provide expert guidance on machine safety and safeguarding systems.
  • Conducting onsite inspections of equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Preparing Pre-start Health and Safety Reviews (PSR) to ensure proper implementation of safety systems.
  • Working autonomously, setting your own schedule for client inspections and report preparation.
  • Attending weekly staff meetings at the Lucid Engineering office in Toronto (approximately once a week).
  • Completing some overnight travel, primarily within a 1–2-hour drive from Toronto, for client inspections.

Requirements:

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • A P.Eng designation (or the ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • A minimum of 4+ years of engineering experience (mechanical or electrical) in a manufacturing or integration environment.
  • Familiarity with Pre-start Health and Safety Reviews per Ontario Regulation 851 Section 7.
  • In-depth knowledge of Functional Safety Concepts, CSA Z432, and other machine safety standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client site visits.
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel out of Canada when required.
  • Proficiency with common office software and basic troubleshooting of IT systems.
