Logistics Operations Manager - London

Position Description :

SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

  • Oversee the coordinated management of assigned sections, related projects, and ongoing operations support at facility management sites. Works with Section Managers (who are responsible to the LSM for the execution of their projects and its impact on the program) to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of Sections.
  • Collaborate with Section Managers, to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance to ensure seamless execution and program impact.
  • Determine and coordinate resources across sections and projects to optimize program benefits.
  • Provide organizational leadership by developing, implementing, and managing annual business plans to meet contract requirements for assigned sections.
  • Deliver vital services more efficiently, while increasing the satisfaction of the end customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and Implementation: Plan, organize, direct, and control the implementation of contracted services and operations for assigned sections. Contracted services may include Landscaping and Grounds Services, Snow and Ice Control Services, Janitorial Services, Accommodation Services, Food Services, Warehousing, and Waste Management.
  • Personnel Management: Manage personnel to ensure efficient day-to-day workflow delivery.
  • Financial Authority: Exercise authority in line with the financial approval framework, including budgeting, KPI reporting, and input into annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Deliverables and Reporting: Ensure all deliverables and reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Standards and Resources: Clearly articulate standards for accomplishing short-term priorities and ensure resources are available to achieve these standards.
  • Initiative Tracking: Track the success of major initiatives and make necessary mid-course corrections.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong working relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Performance Metrics: Deliver optimal site results within performance metrics, including quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Business Plans: Develop and implement business plans and agreed outcomes.
  • Supplier Relationships: Manage key supplier relationships and collaborate with corporate groups and other external stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties relevant to this position as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all Serco Canada Inc. policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Ethics, Serco Management System, Financial, Purchasing, Security, and Risk Management, is crucial. Your efforts will help our customer deliver vital services more efficiently, enhancing end-customer satisfaction.

Qualifications :

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION /CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or an equivalent combination of related education and relevant experience.
  • Program Management Professional certification (desired)
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Level II security clearance is required.
KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
  • Field Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of demonstrated work experience in logistics, transportation operations, or related fields.
  • Government Contracting and Military Facilities: Experience in government contracting and military facilities is an asset. Experience working in ground/air support operations (desired).
  • Customer Service: Extensive customer service experience.
  • Managerial/Supervisory Experience: Previous managerial or supervisory experience with strong performance management skills.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent computer skills in the MS Office suite.
  • Ground/Air Support Operations: Experience working in ground or air support operations is desired.
  • Previous managerial/supervisory experience and strong performance management experience.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Mental: Activities are moderate intensity at more than 4 hrs/day or high intensity at 2-4 hrs/day
  • Physical: Activities are low intensity, less than 2 hrs/day. Involves walking, standing, and climbing during inspections and assessments and the use of Safety Gear (PPE) when inspecting hazardous areas.

Working Conditions:
