Electrical Engineer - Team Lead

Adecco is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer - Team Lead to spearhead a new electrical consulting division for our client in Markham, ON. Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the development of a new electrical consulting division within a growing engineering firm
• Deliver expert consulting services, including system evaluations, feasibility studies, and technical recommendations
• Design and develop electrical infrastructure for building projects, including:
• Main power distribution
• Backup and emergency power systems
• Interior and exterior lighting solutions
• Building automation and control systems
• Service entry and utility connections
• Prepare full design packages including drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and standards, including the Ontario Building Code and Canadian Electrical Code
• Oversee electrical project scope from concept through construction, ensuring quality and compliance
• Conduct construction site inspections and provide technical oversight during implementation
• Manage contract administration and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and clients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated engineering solutions
• Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and industry events
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and service delivery
• Promote knowledge sharing, mentorship, and continuous learning as the division expands
• Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and added client value
• Work independently with a high degree of autonomy, while contributing to a collaborative company culture

Requirements:

• Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution
• Licensed with or eligible for licensure through Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
• Over 10 years of consulting experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on building systems
• Skilled in using design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable software
• In-depth understanding of the Ontario Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and relevant industry standards
• Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to explain technical details to various audiences
• Proven analytical thinker with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality work
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for developing and leading a new business stream
• Demonstrated experience working with clients and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams
• Strong organizational and time management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities efficiently
• Team-oriented, with a passion for mentorship and fostering a collaborative learning environment
