Located in Ontario’s cottage country, the Town of Huntsville is the largest community in the District Municipality of Muskoka and in proximity to the west side of Algonquin Park. The Town of Huntsville’s Public Works Department is currently looking to hire a Seasonal Operator.

Seasonal Operator

The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of heavy equipment operation and possess a valid DZ License. Loader, backhoe and grader experience would be an asset. Experience driving a snow plow would be a distinct advantage. This position will require the successful candidate to work both independently and as an integral part of a team.

Furthermore, participation in all aspects of operations including physical labour (digging, lifting, excavating etc.) will be expected.

The Town of Huntsville Roads Department is a member of the Local Union 636 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. All Public Works employees are on call on a rotating basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week between November 1st and April 30th for road winter maintenance activities.

The current hourly rate for this position is $28.75.
