Senior Database Administration Specialist

Adecco is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administration Specialist to join our client's team in Toronto, ON. This is a 4–6-month contract role offering a competitive rate of $79 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, system architecture, and performance optimization.

You will be responsible for enhancing and building new data platform products, ensuring the platforms meet DBA/Dev/DevOps needs. This role is hybrid, with the requirement to work from the MMC office two days a week.

  • Pay rate: $79/hour.
  • Location: Toronto, ON
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Job type: 4-6-month contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Build new data platform products or enhance existing ones to meet DBA/Dev/DevOps needs.
  • Focus on Performance Optimization to improve database efficiency and scalability.
  • Standardize Practices across the platform, ensuring consistency and best practices.
  • Develop and implement Backup & Disaster Recovery Automation to ensure data safety and availability.
  • Build Security & Compliance Automation to meet industry standards.
  • Manage Cost Optimization across data platforms and environments.
  • Lead the Adoption of Best Practices for database management, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps, DBA, and development teams to integrate data solutions across the infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Strong knowledge of data platforms, databases, ETL tools, and data integration technologies.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and Java development.
  • Experience in Database Architecture and System Design.
  • Strong skills in automation and optimization for better performance, query management, and scalability.
  • An innovative mindset, capable of introducing new ideas, tools, and technologies to improve daily operations and make them more efficient.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model, attending the MMC office two days a week.
