About the Account Manager role
Float is looking for a high-impact Account Manager to join our Customer Experience team! This role is designed for a growth-focused, consultative seller who thrives on expanding customer partnerships and driving revenue. You’ll be responsible for realizing expansion opportunities with our customers post-onboarding, ensuring they continue to grow and scale with us.
In this role, you will own strategic expansion initiatives within an aligned book of business, identifying and executing on opportunities to increase Total Payment Volume (TPV) and deepen customer adoption. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify whitespace opportunities, deliver tailored recommendations, and structure contracts that drive meaningful business outcomes.
As an Account Manager at Float, you will:
- Own expansion and upsell opportunities within a portfolio of existing customers, using data-driven insights to drive strategic growth initiatives.
- Take a consultative approach to account growth, engaging with multiple stakeholders to uncover business needs, position solutions, and create value for their teams.
- Partner closely with CSMs to align on key growth opportunities within their accounts, ensuring a seamless and integrated customer experience.
- Lead commercial conversations to structure incentives and contract negotiations that drive customer expansion and retention.
- Own pipeline and forecasting for expansion revenue, ensuring consistent tracking and execution of account growth initiatives.
- Be the voice of the customer, collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to influence roadmap priorities and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Requirements
You’ll thrive in this role if:
- You have a proven track record of growing accounts. You have at least 2 years of experience in account management with a history of exceeding revenue targets and driving measurable account growth.
- You’re highly strategic. You don’t just execute—you think critically about the best ways to drive expansion, tailor recommendations, and build long-term customer relationships.
- You’re data-driven. You use insights, usage trends, and customer behavior to prioritize and inform your account growth strategy.
- You’re an exceptional communicator and relationship builder. You know how to engage senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and drive action through consultative selling.
- You take ownership and move fast. You thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment and aren’t afraid to test, iterate, and refine your approach to maximize results.
- You understand finance and payments. Experience working with finance, accounting, or payments-related products is a plus, and you’re excited about helping companies optimize their financial operations.
