Job Summary
RBC Insurance is hiring for an Actuarial Associate, Individual Disability Insurance in Mississauga, Ontario. This role involves performing month-end valuations, earnings analysis, and experience studies for Individual Disability portfolio. The position also requires contributing to IFRS17 actuarial financial reporting and providing insights on emerging financial results.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing IFRS17 month-end valuations for Individual Disability
- Analyzing earnings by source to explain key drivers of results.
- Conducting actuarial experience studies and making recommendations to management.
- Contributing to IFRS17 actuarial financial reporting.
- Providing insights on emerging financial results and related metrics.
- Mentoring junior staff
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in actuarial work, particularly with IFRS17 reporting
- Knowledge of IFRS17 and related actuarial reporting requirements.
- Experience with actuarial experience studies and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have- Bachelor’s degree (or greater) majoring in Actuarial Science or Business. Other relevant Majors (e.g. Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics) are acceptable if accompanied with demonstrated knowledge of Actuarial concepts.
- In pursuit of FSA/FCIA designation
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and process controls.
- Ability and willingness to partner effectively with other actuarial leaders, as well as with leaders of other functional areas
- Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written)
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, flexibility to adapt to change and prioritize in a deadline oriented environment.
